An Early Christmas Present….Finally, a ring?

With rumors now swirling about what team will land Allen Iverson, I am hoping that maybe he will go to Minnesota. This would be an early Christmas present to me, but most importantly to my two favorite players in the league, Iverson and Garnett. Not only are they both NBA All-Stars, they both play with a tremendous amount of heart. There are only a few players in the league that play with as much intensity, heart, and passion as these two. If there were an NBA All-Heart team, both of these players would be full time starters. Despite, both players having great individual successes, All-Stars, MVP’s, scoring titles (Iverson), and endorsements out the wazu, neither of the player’s teams have been a consistent contender. Both teams have made it deep into the playoffs, Minnesota conference finals, and Philly, NBA finals (wikipedia). Despite that, neither the T-Wolves nor the Sixers can find the “Answer” or punch the “Big Ticket” for a Championship ring.

So by putting the two together, I truly believe that they will win a championship within 3 years. True A.I. is 31, but he won’t have to do it all himself, and if anyone can gut out 3 or 4 more years out of their body, it is him. No you will have your HATERS, that say Iverson’s Urban appeal will not go well with the Twin Cities fan base. They couldn't be further from the truth. The people in Minnesota are ecstatic of the possibility of getting Iverson, not because of his urban appeal but because of his superior talent, and will to want to win. As both the definite Hall-of-Famers, come towards the end of their very accolade filled careers, will K.G and A.I be able to coexist. My answer to that is, absolutely YES. The reason I say this is because both want a ring(s) to go with their career. They both know numbers will get you in the hall, but a championships puts you in basketball immortality. Like is said both these men have heart and determination to push their teams close once, and that was all alone, now that they both could possibly be together, they will muster up all they have to make it happen again.

Next you have you doubters, saying A.I shots too much and will want to shot too much in Minnesota. People that is because he HAD TO in Philly and Iverson knows who’s team he is coming to, its K.G’s team and he will be happy to fill his role, his normal role, as a scorer, defender, and leader. Everyone knows that K.G has a problem with not being aggressive enough, now he won’t have to be, he can play his game; score, rebound, pass out of the double teams, hit the open J, and dominate in all isolations throughout the game, you know his normal STAT STUFFING tradition. Garnett has never really been a 30 point a night guy, however, Mr. Iverson has. With A.I’s scoring and defense and Garnett’s unselfishness and intensity, this is a perfect match.
